Blythe George Music Services - * Music Lessons * Performance * Accompaniment *
Blythe is a lifelong resident of Durham Region. Since the age of three, she was very drawn to the piano thanks to inspiration from her older sister. She started taking lessons at age four.

In 1994, Blythe joined the Young Singers of Ajax and enjoyed a very rich choral experience. In school, she continued to sing, and learned to play the clarinet and french horn. For several years, she attend Durham Integrated Arts Camp (DIAC) where she met other enthusiastic musicians.

She attended O'Neill Collegiate and Vocational Institute where she gained experience accompanying soloists, choirs, and theatre productions. While at school, she travelled to Kingston, Quebec, Cleveland, Germany, and Austria. During this time, she developed an affinity for music theory and composition.

After graduation, Blythe attended the University of Toronto where she explored ethnomusicology, choral studies, music education, and composition. While singing with the MacMillan Singers, she performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra at Roy Thomson Hall, and travelled to New York to perform at the Lincoln Centre.

Blythe spent the year after graduation developing her musical career. She worked at St. Paul's United Church as the musical director. She also worked on musical productions at the Whitby Courthouse Theatre, where she has done Plaid Tidings, Forever Plaid, The Wizard of Oz, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. She accompanied the Espressivo Singers, under the direction of JC Coolen, as well as the Toronto Police Chorus, and the Eastdale Singers. Blythe spent a portion of the year participating in the CCLT program in Victoria, BC. She also maintained a private music studio and hosted a recital alongside former teacher, Lois Craig.

In 2011, Blythe completed her Bachelor of Education at Nipissing Univeristy, qualifying to teach music and English at the intermediate and senior levels.

Currently, Blythe continues to reside in Ajax. She looks forward to returning to returning to Durham Region's music scene, and to teaching the wonderful talent that exists in and beyond this community.
